Do I need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist?
A formal or medical referral is not required to see an Occupational Therapist. Simply contact us to make an enquiry or refer your child.
What is the process once a referral or contact with us has been made?
We will arrange for all intake paperwork to be completed and ask for any relevant reports from other health professionals and educators.
The referral will be triaged by our Occupational Therapist who may wish to discuss the referral further with you.
Your child will be added to our waitlist and appointment offered once available based on nature of referral and current caseload demands.

NDIS
We see children with plan managed and self-managed NDIS funding.

Medicare
Rebates may be available through Medicare if the appropriate referral is made by your family doctor or paediatrician. Speak to your family doctor about your child’s eligibility for the Chronic Disease Management Plan (Formerly the Enhanced Primary Care Plan). Eligible children can receive up to 5 Medicare subsidised sessions per calendar year.
Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items are available for assessing, diagnosing and treating patients who may have a Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder or other disability, previously part of the Helping Children with Autism program and Better Start for Children with Disability initiative.
For Occupational Therapy, MBS item numbers are 82010 and 82025.

Private Health Insurance
If your family has Extras cover that includes Occupational Therapy, you may be entitled to a rebate from your health fund. Please check the specifics of your policy with your insurer to find out if you are eligible for a rebate for Occupational Therapy.
